RETROSPECTIVE: SHORT FILMS BY JOHN GALLAGHER

Award-winning writer-director John Gallagher has directed six feature films (including THE DELI and BLUE MOON), with two more in pre-production (SAM, DIGGER 3D).  He has regularly cast exciting new talent in his movies (John Leguizamo, Amanda Peet, Zach Braff, Gretchen Mol and Denis Leary, to cite a few), authored two books (Film Directors on Directing and Nothing Sacred: The Cinema of William Wellman, co-written with Frank Thompson), and serves on the faculty of The School of Visual Arts and The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City.

He’s also written and directed a dozen shorts that have played film festivals all over the world. The Atlantic City Short Film Festival is proud to present a retrospective of John’s short work, including a World Premieres:

EXPATRIATE (2010) World Premiere. Starring Christina Gooding. 8 minutes.

BEAUTIFUL (2009) Starring Lauren Schacher. 7 minutes.

AND THE WINNER IS (2008) Starring Christina Broccolini and Christina Gooding. 5 minutes.

ACTING CLASS (2005) Starring Heidi Kristoffer and James Gilmartin. 12 minutes.

TIMELESS (2004) Starring Natalie Howe. 12 minutes.

PENANCE (1999) Starring Joe Pope, Frank Vincent and Heather Matarazzo. 10 minutes.

John Gallagher will be in attendance at the ACSFF along with many of his cast members.
